Behind the Scenes: Producing a Lifestyle Campaign for JustFoodForDogs

Commercial Pet Photography | Orange County, California

When people think of commercial photography, they often picture the final images. What they don't always see is everything that happens before the shutter clicks.

This pet brand lifestyle campaign for JustFoodForDogs was one of those productions where every detail mattered. As we have worked with JFFD before, our team was trusted to help bring the campaign together from the ground up, coordinating the logistics needed to create authentic, lifestyle-driven imagery for one of the most recognized names in fresh pet nutrition.

From sourcing the perfect location to coordinating dog talent and building lighting setups throughout the home, this was a true collaborative production. This campaign marked my fourth collaboration with JustFoodForDogs, allowing our team to continue producing commercial pet and lifestyle photography that aligned with their evolving marketing needs.

Our Team Handled:

  • Location scouting and securing a residential home rental

  • Casting and coordinating dog models

  • Production planning and scheduling

  • Professional studio lighting throughout the home

  • Managing assistants and production workflow

  • Photography production alongside the JustFoodForDogs marketing team

  • Creating lifestyle imagery for future brand marketing

One of the biggest goals for this commercial pet brand photography campaign was creating imagery that felt authentic.

Rather than heavily styled sets, we photographed dogs where they naturally spend time—with their families in bright kitchens, enjoying fresh meals, sharing treats, relaxing around the home, and interacting naturally with their owners.

The result was a library of versatile commercial content featuring:

  • Lifestyle photography

  • Pet Product photography

  • Fresh food preparation

  • Dog treat imagery

  • Brand content storytelling

  • Environmental portraits

  • Social media and marketing assets

Every image was created with future marketing campaigns in mind, giving the JustFoodForDogs team content they could use across their website, advertising, email marketing, and social media. Productions like these are never a one-person job. This six-hour commercial shoot brought together photographers, assistants, marketing representatives, dog handlers, pet owners, lighting equipment, multiple locations throughout the home, and plenty of four-legged talent. Our role was making sure all of those moving parts came together seamlessly so the creative team could focus on capturing images that felt natural, polished, and true to the brand.
