Hello, I’m Katelin! — The Salty Dog Studio

Hi, I’m Katelin—the photographer, creative director, dog lover, and founder of The Salty Dog Studio.

With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from The University of Arizona (go Wildcats!) and more than a decade and a half of professional experience, shooting 10 years of weddings, travel photography and 11 years of pets and kids, I’ve built my career around creating imagery that feels both polished and authentic. Whether I’m photographing a national pet brand, a growing family, or a dog with a larger-than-life personality, my goal is always the same: to create images that tell a story and leave a lasting impression.

I founded The Salty Dog Studio in Costa Mesa, CA to bring that vision to life. I wanted to create a space where creativity, organization, and fun could coexist—whether we’re producing a commercial campaign, photographing a beloved family pet, or capturing meaningful moments for families.

When I’m not in the studio, you’ll find me spending time with my husband, Doug, our three daughters, and our Labrador Captain (who is now 12). They inspire so much of what I do and constantly remind me that the best moments are often the ones we never planned.
